Official visit to the US of Prime Minister of Moldova Maia Sandu, September 18-19, 2019
During the official visit to the US in the timeframe between September 18th and 19th of Prime Minister of Moldova Maia Sandu, a range of meetings took place with US President Advisor, Ivanka Trump; US Vice President, Mike Pence; US President Special Assistant and member of the National Security Council, Tim Morrison; Assistant Secretary of the US Department of the Treasury, Justin Muzinich; Assistant Secretary of the US Department of Defense, David L. Norquist; USAID Administrator, Mark Green; Congressmen and Co-Chairs of the Congressional Moldova Caucus, Pete Olson and David Price; Congressman and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, Eliot Engel; Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate, Damian Murphy; President of the German Marshall Fund, Karen Donfried, the agenda also containing the participation at a meeting with the Moldovan Diaspora, an International Republican Institute public event, an interview for the Harvard Kennedy School Magazine etc.
The official delegation also consisted of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrei Năstase; Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu; Minister of Finance, Natalia Gavrilița; Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy and Strategic Planning, Vlad Kulminski; Adviser to the Prime Minister on Security and Defense, Victoria Roșa; State Secretary of the MFAEI, Dinu Toderașcu and State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Sergiu Luca.
The visit to Washington, D.C. is part of a series of events, meant to intensify the relations between the US and the Republic of Moldova and shows the willingness of both parties to continuously capitalize on the strategic partnership between the two countries.
