Effective March 5, 2021, all travelers crossing the state border for entering the Republic of Moldova must complete the Epidemiological Fiche, as well as must sign a declaration on their own responsibility to comply with the self-isolation regime for a period of 14 (fourteen) days in the established places. In case of a minor child, the Epidemiological Fiche and the declaration are completed and signed by the legal representative or accompanying person.

The exemptions will be granted for the following categories of persons, under the condition that they do not have clinical symptoms of a respiratory infection or fever:

1) children under age of 5 or those of 5 years old;

2) persons that present proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours of departure; to be presented in Romanian, English, French or Russian language;

3) drivers and personnel serving the means of road transport, who carry out the transport of goods or passengers for a fee (on a vehicle with more than 9 seats, including the driver`s seat), crews and personnel serving the aircraft/ships, as well as brigades and service personnel for the trains;

4) persons traveling for health or humanitarian reasons, including the accompanying person, as the case may be (upon the presentation of confirmatory documents);

5) pupils / students travelling to take exams, those who are going to study in educational institutions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova or abroad, or for activities related to completion / organization / studies / participation in international competitions or Olympics, based on the presentation of confirmatory documents. The exception also applies to their legal representative or the accompanying person appointed by the means of a declaration by the legal representative;

6) persons traveling with the scope of professional interest, proved by a relevant visa, residence permit or another confirmative document, that includes the invitation and/or the contract concluded with a resident legal entity in the Republic of Moldova;

7) persons traveling abroad in professional interest and upon return to the country present the confirmation of delegation abroad issued on behalf of the resident legal entity from the Republic of Moldova, the invitation or the contract concluded with the economic agent abroad or delegation order issued by the public institutions of the Republic of Moldova;

8) cross-border workers, entering in the Republic of Moldova from Romania or Ukraine, as well as those from the Republic of Moldova employed by economic agents from the mentioned countries, who present a proof of such contractual relations with respective economic agents;

9) holders of diplomatic, service, official and special passports, and others assimilated to these, UN Laissez-Passer, as well as family members of the personnel from the diplomatic missions, consular offices and international organizations/missions, accredited to the Republic of Moldova and/or personnel providing humanitarian aid;

10)  athletes that travel with the scope to participate at the international sports competitions and cantonments, as well as members of the sport delegations or accompanying persons (parents or legal representatives of the minor children); 

11)  persons in transit, transit itinerary to be established the General Inspectorate of Border Police;

12)  persons that are cited by the courts/law enforcement authorities from the Republic of Moldova, as well as their legal representatives, on the basis of confirmative documents;

13)  persons who present a proof of COVID-19 vaccination in Romanian, English, French or Russian language.

After 10 days of their quarantine, the traveler may exit quarantine if he/she obtains a PCR COVID-19 test and it comes back negative.
