New measures to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova
Following the evolution of the current epidemiological situation in the Republic of Moldova, the Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health, by its Decision no. 35 of 27.11.2020, declared the state of emergency in public health on the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova for the period November 30 to January 15, 2021.
New measures to prevent and control COVID-19 infection have been approved. Foreign citizens and stateless persons coming from countries classified as red zone, with some exceptions, indicated in p.7.4 of the above-mentioned Decision, are prohibited from entry to the Republic of Moldova. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection will establish and publish the list of countries with increased or low epidemiological risk of COVID-19 transmission, classified as red and green zones that will be updated every 14 days, on Friday (and will enter in force on Monday of the following week).
At the same time, persons crossing the state border on the way to enter the Republic of Moldova, and coming, directly or by transit, from the countries classified as red zone, must complete the epidemiological fiche and sign the declaration on their own responsibility to observe the self-isolation regime for 14 days, in the determined places, with some exceptions, indicated in p.7.6 of the CNESP Decision no. 35 of November 27, 2020.
